WAIRAKEI FUMAROLE
Bore Not Connected
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 16. Ministry of Works engineers are satisfied that the Wairakei fumarole which followed an eruption on Sunday is not being fed through a break in the casing of nearby bore 37. The project engineer, Mr A. C. L Fooks, said today that he expected no further trouble from the fumarole. Half a dozen holes were puffing steam within 50ft of a pipe-line to the powerhouse. The holes and steam activity have not altered much since Sunday and no significant change is expected.
