MAN’S BODY FOUND

TIMARU. May 16. The body of Mr Alan A. Ross, aged 26. of Burkes Pass, was recovered from the Orari river about 10 o’clock thia morning. The body, which was found by a civilian search party under the direction of Constable A T. Dunkley. of Geraldine. was lying on a strip of shingle between two streams, two miles below the Upper Orari bridge Mr Ross was drowned early last Saturday morning when his light truck plunged into the flooded Orari river near Geraldine, after two spans of the Upper Orari bridge had been washed away by floodwaters.

Mr E. F. Davison, headmaster of the Opawa School, has been appointed teachers’ representative on the Canterbury Primary Teachers’ Appeal Board.
