Roller-skating Champions To Live In New Zealand

PALMERSTON N., May 15. The 1958-59 world rollerskating dance champions, Mr and Ito SydnSl Cpoper, of Great Britain, are coming to New Zealand to five in TauTiiis news was received by the Amateur Roller-skating AssqpSwon of New Zealand at its headquarters fti Palmerston North during the week-end. Two weeks ago. Mr and Mrs Cooper won the British roller-skating. dance championship for the fourth time. Mr and Mrs Cooper toured New Zealand 16 months ago under the auspices of the Amateur Roller-skating Association, of New Zealand, and were so impressed With the country that they, decided to migrate at the first opportunity. They will continue with their dancing and interest in roller-skating as members of
the Amateur Roller-skating Association of New Zealand. Mr and Mrs Cooper leave Britain on June 2 on the Canberra, which is coming to New Zealand on its maiden voyage, and expect to arrive in Auckland on July 4. The Amateur Roller-skat-ing Association has also learnt that Miss Maureen Jackson, the British artistic skating champion from 1952 to 1959, who was injured in a fall in Christchurch while touring in the same team as the Coopers, has fully recovered. Three months ago, she regained the British amateur figure skating championship she had to relinquish because of her mishap in Nev Zealand.
