TAKE-OVER BID BY COMALCO
£900,000 Offer For Sydney Firm
Comalco Industries Pty.. Ltd., has made a cash offer for Southern Aluminium, Ltd., Sydney. Mr H. J. Brigden, chairman of Southern Aluminium, announcing this, said the offer was 9s for each 5s share. Total cash and consideration is £900,000 for the £500.000 paid-up capital. Directors of Larke Consolidated Industries, Ltd., the major shareholder in Southern Aluminium, said their company would gain a capital profit on £296.300 on its 75 per cent, holding. Comalco Industries Pty., Ltd., is the newly formed joint venture of Consolidated Zinc Pty., Ltd., and Kaiser Aluminium and Chemical Corporation. It has a £l3om development programme for all stages of the aluminium industry in- Australia and New Zealand.
