Police Search Of Orari River

(N.Z. Press Association) TIMARU, May 15. A sports coat, cravat, andj cheque book belonging to Mr Alan A. Ross, 26. of Burke's Pass, who lost his life early last Saturday morning when his truck plunged into the flooded Orari river, near Geraldine, were found today about three or four miles downstream from the scene of the accident The articles were found by a police party searching for Mr Ross’s body. Mr Ross's truck is presumed to have fallen into the river when, op after two spans of the upper Orari bridge were wrenched away by the swollen river in the early hours of Saturday morning. He was travelling toward Geraldine from the Ashburton district. The truck was recovered from the river about a quarter of a mile below the bridge on Sunday The search for Mr Ross’s body will be continued tomorrow.
