DRAMA SCHOOL BEGINS
Two From City Attend
Two young Christchurch actors are among the 10 successful applicants for the New Zealand Theatre Company’s drama school. They are Colleen Murphy, aged 23, and Colin Alexander, aged 24. The others chosen. are: Prue Levin, 17, from Palmerston North; , Jennifer Hogan, 17, Lower Hutt; Lorraine Mountjoy, 19, Wellington; Tony Pope, 20, and Duncan Whiting. 21, of Wellington; John Griffiths, 18, and Bruce Attwood, 22, of Auckland; and John Bury. 16, Dunedin. The directors of the school, Antony and Joanna Groser, said they had been impressed with the large number of applicants and the potential they had shown during auditions. Only the present limited facilities for training students had forced them reluctantly to limit this year's intake to the selected 10. The field to be studied will incorporate Shakespearean, restoration’ and modern plays.
