Shakespeare On U.S. Records
By 1964, the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s birth, two American record companies and one in England plan to have completed their recordings of al! Shakespeare's plays and poems. Both American companies are featuring actors and actresses from Britain on the recordings. The Caedmon Company features leading London players, and Spoken Word uses the resources of the Dublin Gate Theatre.
