GRAND PRIX AT ARDMORE
Aero Club Makes Protest
(N.Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 13. The Auckland Aero Club is calling a meeting of all users of Ardmore aerodrome to consider making a strong protest to the Government over the suggestion that the New Zealand Grand Prix organisation will be allowed the use of Ardmore next January. The move follows notification from the Civil Aviation Administration, which has advised the Government against allowing the Grand Prix at Ardmore, that the club will be off the aerodrome for five weeks and a half if the race is held. In a telegram yesterday, the Minister of Civil Aviation (Mr McAlpine) urged the club to seek a solution with the Grand Prix organisation. But the club’s first move is to call the users' meeting on Monday week.
