Brabham Qualifies
<N Z.P.A -Reuter—Copyright) INDIANAPOLIS, May 14. The world champion racing driver. Jack Brabham, lapped at an average speed of 145.144 miles an hour in his first qualifying run yesterday for the Indianapolis 500-mile memorial day motor race on May 30. This time, recorded in a Cooper Climax, put Brabham among the 33 starters who will compete in the 50th annual running of the event. He is the first foreign driver to qualify for the “500" since Albero Ascari, of Italy, in 1952.
