Inquiries At Oamaru
After the Oamaru Juvenile Stakes at Oamaru on Saturday, D. J. Townley, driver of Belroy, was questioned about his horse moving out on to Lordship in the closing stages of the race. Townley’s explanation that he was doing his best to pull Belroy off Lordship was accepted. He was warned to exercise care when driving this horse in future. Irish Wit slipped on a greasy patch on the track and fell at the end of four and a-half furlongs in the R. A. McDowell Memorial Handicap. Princess Hanover slipped and fell without receiving interference in the First Trial Handicap.
