Teams Announced For Barbarians’ Match

AUCKLAND, May 13.
Ponsonby’s star second fiveeighth, M. Dick, has been chosen to play opposite the All Black T. Lineen, in the Injured Players' Day match between the Barbarians and Auckland at Eden Park on Sunday, May 21. Although the match is strictly for charity, there is room for belief that both Dick and Lineen will be on trial for the Auckland representative team later this season.
Dick will play for the Barbarians between Taranaki All Blacks R. Brown and T. O’Sullivan. Lineen will play between his Auckland and Marist partners S. Nesbit and P. Little.

Boxing Tourney At Gisborne
(N.Z. Press Association) GISBORNE, May 14. The Gisborne middleweight Roy Skuse, scored a convincing win on points over the rugged Wellington boxer, Len Iva. in a six-round feature bout at the Gisborne Boxing Association’s amateur tournament on Saturday. One judge gave Skuse every round, another five out of six, and the third, four rounds. Skuse used his longer reach, smart footwork, and twohanded punching to amass points, particularly with a rapier-like right Severe Earthquake.— The most severe earthquake for some time shook Palmerston North and the district at 12.13 p.m. yesterday. It lasted for about 10 seconds and in many areas was accompanied by a loud rumbling. The shake was also felt in Pahiatua. No damage has been reported, but it is understood some households suffered minor breakages from falling articles. —(PA.)
