Axemen’s Carnival At Palmerston Nth.

Telford, of Tokoroa, beat The Rest in the Capstan challense chop at the axemen’s carnival at the Palmerston North Industries Fair on Saturday. The event, the premier one of the carnival, produced one of the most exciting woodchopping contests ever seen in New Zealand. The New Zealand team was Telford. G. Hocquard (Pelorus Sound). R. Honey (Tokoroa). D. Lamberton (Hawke’s Bay). T. Davidson (Tokoroa). and A. Rose (West Coast). Its winning time was sm!n 2Ssec. The Rest comprised R. Davidson (Tokoroa). captain. J.
