NONAGENARIANS CELEBRATE

Messrs 1. Wood And F. Cox

When two members of the Christchurch Old Folks’ and Beneficiaries’ Association celebrated their ninety-first and ninetieth birthdays 'on Thursday, musical honours were given at an afternoon concert. Mr I. Wood was 91 and Mr F. Cox was 90. Both received telegrams from the Prime Minister (Mr Holyoake) and Mrs Holyoake, and Mr H. J. Walker, member of Parliamnet for St. Albans. Mr Alan Crawford was the compere for items given by Mr Claude O'Hagen. Miss P Storran. and Mesdames Moira Nicolle, Joan Ritchie, and Dorothy Burgess. The organiser was Mrs H. Reeve.
