WORK OF TEACHERS
Warning Against Complacency Teachers were doing magnificient work but they must not become complacent. They must continue to foster the ideals of the institute, the new president (Mr J. Nesbitt) said at the end of the annual meeting of the New Zealand Educational institute, today. He believed the public would support every move to advance education in this country. “Whatever standards we have achieved they are rot high enough, we must get them higher," he said Mr Nesbitt made a plea for greater unity in education and in the service of education The post-primary schools had tremendous problems and he urged the institute to unite with the Post - primary Teachers’ Association in solvng the problems involved in mproving the standard of education at all levels. “Their goodwill could be of remendous value in furthering the aims and objectives of this institute.” he said.
