Soccer APPOINTMENT OF REFEREES
(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 12. The New Zealand Referees’ Association has announced the following referees’ and linesmens’ appointments for the forthcoming tour of New Zealand by the English soccer team. The referees and the linesmen appointed are:— May 31.—England v. Otago, at Dunedin; referee, Mr R. Cullen <Canterbury>; linesmen, Messrs A. MeQuanie and R. McDonald (Otago). June 3. —England v. Canterbury, at Christchurch; referee, Mr D. Welham (Otago); linesmen, Messrs L. Tointon and J. Davidson (Canterbury). June s.—England v. New Zealand (first test), at Basin Reserve, Wellington; referee. Mr C. Dickie (Auckland); linesmen, Messrs A. Palmer and J. Cherrie (Wellington). June 7.—England v. Minor Associations, at Napier; referee, Mr F. Plant (Wairarapa); linesmen, Messrs W. Elney and G. Baxter (Hawke’s Bay). June 10.—England v. New Zealand (second test), at Auckland; referee, Mr A. Williams (Otago); linesmen, Messrs A. Furse and G. Gearing (Auckland). June 14.—England v. Auckland District, at Auckland: referee, Mr M. Swain (Wellington); linesmen. Messrs L. Coffman and B. Wilkin (Auckland).
CANCELLATIONS
The following games under the control of the Canterbury FootbaU Association and the Junior Management Committee, scheduled for May 13. have been cancelled because of wet conditions: 2nd Division, 4th Division, Sth Division. AU grades from 4th Grade down. We advise the following changes of grounds:— Ist Division: City v. Nomads. Spreydon 2; Rangers v. Wanderers. Spreydon 1. 3rd Division: Nomads v.
