The British Labour Party will consider at an executive meeting on Tuesday, proposals for bringing development land under State ownership. and the dissolution of public schools It is proposed that a national land board, directly accountable to Parliament, should be apointed to acquire the freehold of all development land progressively Under the new system the person developing the land would be leasing it from the Government and the proceeds would go to the nation, through the agency of the board To decide on the future of the public schools, it is proposed that a State education commission be appointed tn consult with the local authorities, the universities and the public schools themselves on how they can best be out to use in the service of the whole community.
