Methodist Synod On Lottery.—The Auckland Methodist Synod’s standing committee believes the new State lottery with its bigger prizes will "encourage a considerable increase in the volume of gambling.” It is writing to the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Gotz) urging the Government to consider whether this is in the best interests of the nation. — (P.A.)
