Change In Plans For N.Z. Stayer
(N.Z.P. A.-Reuter—Copyright) SYDNEY. May 11. The New’ Zealand stayer Waipari will be a runner in the seven furlongs Stradbroke Handicap at Eagle Farm on June 10. This surprise change in plans for Waipari was announced today.
Waipari is weighted at Bst 12 lb in both the Stradbroke and the two-mile Brisbane Cup.
which will be run tw’o days later.
The general opinion w’as that Waipan w’ould be set for the Brisbane Cup, but now he is likely to miss that race. Today’s move indicates that Waipari now will be set for the Doomben Cup. after a start in the Stradbroke.
Waipari w r ill be ridden in the Stradbroke and other Brisbane races by T. Hill. Hill said today he had not yet been notified when Waipari would have his first start in Brisbane.
