Epstein Exhibition
Sir,—Lack of co-operation between Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch art galleries has allowed many exhibitions to leave New Zealand without touching Christchurch. I suggest that Christchurch arrange for future exhibitions to begin here, go south, and then north. What a pity, that W. A. Sutton did not know earlier about the Epstein exhibition in Auckland. and make arrangements for an extension of the loan period. Surely England could provide other of his works for the Edinburgh Festival, and if persons lend things, they would be generous enough to allow time for all art centres in New Zealand to profit.—Yours, etc., SOLIDARITY. May 11, 1961.
