Melbourne And Brisbane Sales (N.Z Press Assn—Capvrtght) MELBOURNE, May 11. Wool prices were generally steady at yesterday’s levels when the current series of sales concluded in Melbourne today, the Melbourne Wool Brokers’ Association reported. Japan was the main buyer with useful support from the Continent, the United Kingdom and locals. Crossbred prices: Good 58's, 72d: 50’s. 70d. Brisbane Sale The market generally was unchanged today on yesterday’s levels but was up to 2J per cent, down on Monday’s opening rates, at the Brisbane wool sales. Main competition came from Japan, with good support from the United Kingdom and the Continent.

Today's offering was 17.033 bales.
