YOUNG FARMERS 9 STOCK-JUDGING
New Zealand-Wide Competitions
(N.Z. Press Association) DUNEDIN. May 10. Twenty - three districts throughout New Zealand entered the national Young Farmers’ Clubs’ stock-judging competitions held at Tahuna Park. Dunedin, today. North Canterbury won first place in the teama’ competition with an aggregate of 1639 points. central Otago was second with 1600 points, and Western Southland third with 1590. South Otago gained the highest aggregate of points in the three sheep classes for the Henson Shield—643 points Oroua. with 639 points, came second, and Waimate, with 637. third. Individual Classes Class 1, beef cattle (136 entries): W. J. Medllcott (Waimate), 267 points, 1; R. Rose (Marlborough), 265. 2; J. Gemmell (Central King Country), 258. 3. Class 2. dairy cattle: I. Gloyn (Manawatu). 295, 1: B. Frazer (North Canterbury), 292, 2; M. Mitchell (Oroua). 290, 3. Class 3, porker pigs: D. Petrie (North Canterbury). 210. 1; M. Eddy (Central Hawke's Bay). 207 . 2; N. J. ESrly (MidCanterbury), 205, 3. Class 4, Romney sheep (138 entries): B. Wright (Eastern Southland), 273. 1: G. Bunn (Central Otago), 2T71, 2; J. Hart (Tlmaru), 269 , 3.
