COURSE IN FIRST AID
Instruction Given Church Group The first aid course given by the St. John Ambulance Association to members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church had been very successful, as the church people had proved keen learners, the secretary of the Christchurch sub-centre of the association (Major-General G. B. Parkinson) said yesterday. Those who had taken the course sat their written examinations on Wednesday, and he had every confidence the marks would be satisfactory.
“We would be pleased to discuss similar courses for other church groups or for groups from factories, schools or colleges, or any other section of the community,” General Parkinson added. Public classes in first aid will begin this month at Cashmere and in the city. The Cashmere classes will begin in the St John Hall, at 22 Cashmere road, on May 22, and in the headquarters at Peterborough street on May 24. In both cases there will be seven lectures in successive weeks.
