Award To Toronto Woman
Foster mother of the’year in Toronto, Canada, is Mrs Gertrude Devoy. She received a special award recently from the Catholic Children’s Aid Society of Metropolitan Toronto, writes a Toronto correspondent. A widow for the last 10 years, Mrs Devoy has cared for more than 40 children since 1942. She and her husband, John, who died in 1951. had only one daughter, and both felt they could care for many more children. There are six foster children in her home at present—five boys and one girl.
