U.S. Denial Of Report

(N.Z Press Assn—Copyright)

NEW YORK, May 11

Official Washington sources said yesterday that 17 members of the Cuban invasion force were held in detention in a Guatemala camp for about 11 weeks because they were mutinous, the “New York Times” said today. These sources rejected the version of the affair given by Dr. Rodolfo Nodal Tarafa, the newspaper said. Dr. Nodal, one of the 17, said that he and his associates were held prisoner by the United States Central Intelligence Agency because they refused to accept Cubans backed by that agency to lead the invasion of Cuba that ended in failure in mid-April.
