HURUNUI SEAT

Labour Party Candidate

Mr A. A. Adcock has been confirmed as the Labour Party's candidate for the Hurunui by-election on June 10.

Mr Adcock, who contested

the seat at the General election last year against Mr W. H. Gillespie, whose death has caused the by-election, was introduced to the annual conference of the New Zea'and Labour Party in Wellington yesterday, when his se'ection was announced.

Mr Adcock is 33. and an employee of the New Zealand Railways Department at the Addington workshops, where he is secretary of the branch of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants.

He is a member of the Waimairi County Council, representing the Styx riding, and lives in the Hurunui electorate.
