WEST END THEATRES
Starting Tinies Become Later

Theatre going in the West End is slowly and almost imperceptibly becoming later, according to the “Daily Telegraph." During the last three years, curtain times have gradually moved towards 8 p.m., 8.15 p.m., and 8.30 p.m., in response to public demand, and to keep pace with altering circumstances of theatre goers.
Twenty of the 32 West End theatres now begin at 7.45 p.m. or later. The figure for 1958 was 18. Three or four years ago show times were equally divided between early ones, 7 p.m. or 7.30 p.m., and the later. 7.45 p.m. or after. Now the majority are much later.
Eleven theatre times are later than in 1958 and only three are earlier.
