TRAINER FINED

Positive Swab Inquiry (N Z. Press Association) AUCKLAND, May 10. The Kumeu trotting trainer, G. Cole, was fined £l5 today at a hearing into the positive swab returned by the trotter Oleda Girl at the Auckland Trotting Club's meeting on February

The committee which conducted the meeting comprised Messsrs A. W. Wallace (chairman), A. E. L. Dodd and E. J. V. Dyson. The committee found that Oleda Girl did have administered to her a drug or stimulant capable of affecting her speed, stamina, courage, or conduct.

Oleda Girl was disqualified for the race, the Takapuna Handicap, run at the meeting on February 11. The placings will now be: Marawiti 1, Tribune 2. Rossalona 3, Scrap Iron 4.

The committee further found that Cole failed to satisfy the committee that he had taken all. reasonable precautions to prevent the administration of such drug or stimulant.

When imposing the fine the committee took into consideration the fact that, in its opinion Cole did not wilfully administer the drug in that it was proved to the committee's satisfaction that the drug was an ingredient of a well-known proprietary food used by him.
