RED CROSS AT KAIAPOI

Presentation Made To President

President of the Kaiapoi sub-centre of the Red Cross for the last three years. Miss P Pearce, was presented with a small gift at the recent monthly meeting in appreciation of her work for the suncentre. Mrs C. Palmer, who presided, thanked memUers for their splendid effort in raising £ll7 at a recent street stall. Members were reminded of the church parade to be held in the Roman Catholic Cathedral, this Sunday at 3 p.m.

Three layettes had been posted to Hong Kong it was reported and donations were made as follows: > Towards market, £39: library fund, £3 3s: disaster relief, £l9; disabled servicemen’s fund, £5; Malaya sick and wounded fund. £l9: towards raffles. £5; assessment, £l7 10s; and 48 pots of jam were sent to the Good Neighbour Service.
