April 19. 1961, passed the following resolution: “In pursuance of the powers vested in it by Sections 170 and 190 of the Municipal Corporations Act 1954 and the Public Works Act 1928, and all amendments thereto it in that behalf enabling, the Christchurch City Council hereby resolves b yway of Special Order to lay out the following land as public street: “All of the land being lO, D.P. 11319. Pt. Lots 28 and 29. D.P. 2134, Lot 4, D.P. 8511 and Pt. Lot 6. Christchurch, at 8.40 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19. 1961. “That— Erin Place be renamed ERIN CRESCENT. A portion of the old Main road between Clifton terrace and Nay la nd street be officially named CLIFTON BAY Derry place be renamed CAVAN PLACE (to avoid confusion with Derrett place). The southerly extension of Tomes road be renamed RUTLAND STREET (with which it is now being linked). The southern section of Hunter terrace be renamed SLOAN TERRACE. The section of Birchfield avenue running in a northerly direction to Cresswell avenue b© renamed GAYHURST ROAD. The name Cranmer terrace be changed back to CHESTER STREET WEST. IT IS HEREBY FURTHER PUBLICITY NOTIFIED that the foregoing resolution will be submitted to an Ordinary Meeting of the Christchurch City Council to be held in the City Council Chamber, situate as aforesaid at 8 p.m, on Wednesday.
