TRANSFER OF D. WAUGH

Technical Club’s Gain

The strong Technical Old Boys’ Club in the senior soccer competition has made a notable gain this week in the signing of D. Waugh from Gisborne. Waugh, many times a Poverty Bay representative, will make his first appearance in the Technical colours on Saturday. It is understood that his clearance from Eastern Union has been completed. An Australian by birth, Waugh has captained the Poverty Bay representative side. He led this team to victory over Auckland in an E.F.A. Trophy challenge match in 1959, and led the Eastern Union team to win the North Island champion-of-champions tournament in Auckland in the same season. He is said to be equally at home as a forward, halfback or full-back.
