NEW PATROL CARS FOR POLICE
Two Replacements In City
Two new patrol cars had gone into service at the Christchurch . Central Police Station to replace two vehicles which had been withdrawn, said Superintendent C. L. Spencer yesterday. This year the Police Department plans to purchase 44 new motor vehicles. Twenty of these are cars and there are three vans and 21 motor-cycles. Thirty-four of the vehicles are replacements and the others are additional. The vans will be used at Auckland, Hamilton, and Dunedin, and are the same as those introduced successfully in Christchurch, ’Wellington, and Auckland last year.
