Young Girl Drowned

(N.2. Press Association) WHAKATANE, May 9 A 14-month-old girl was accidentally drowned at Edgecumbe yesterday. She was: Vicki Joan Fenton, daughter of Mr and Mrs T. T. Fenton. McCracken’s road, Edgecumbe. It is believed the young girl accompanied her father to the cowshed and was missing for some time before her father noticed her absence. Her body was found lying face down in a trough. Mouth-to-mouth resuscitation was applied and oxygen was administered for about an hour without response.
