Black Jerseys, Red Monograms
Members of future Canterbury representative golf teams will play in black jerseys with red monograms.
as the result of a resolution passed by the management eommitee of the Canterbury Provincial Golf Association last night. The committee authorised the purchase of a set of such jerseys, to be worn by Canterbury players in inter-provincial matches. The matter came before the meeting during Mr G. P Anderson’s report as manager of the Canterbury team in the recent Canterbury - Otago fixture. The Otago players, said Mr Anderson, were like “peas in a pod.” all being clad in blue jerseys, with monograms
The Canterbury players bad provided a rather motley contrast he added. If Otago, with about 1500 golfers, could produce this result, surely Canterbury, with about 4500 members, eould match the effort.
Later during the meeting a cap on view was adopted as the official Canterbury bead dress for members ot the provincial team for the Freyberg
