Miss Kathrine Gibson, South Canterbury’s 196! “Wool Princess,” is an appropriate choice She has lived on sheep farms all her life. Educated at Villa Maria College, Christchurch, she has worked on her father’s farm at Geraldine and has usually spent her holidays at Lake Pukaki, where her two brothers farm. Sixteen-year-old Miss Gibson passed through Christchurch yesterday on her way home from Wellington, where she spent two days as part of her prize for winning the contest. The prize for the "Wool Princess” title also includes 50 guineas worth of clothing and other goods. An accomplished horsewoman, Miss Gibson has ridden in several South Canterbury shows and won prizes. She also plays basketball and tennis for Geraldine teams. She intends to sit for her A.T.C.L. examination in pianoforte this year
