RUGBY SCORERS
ALTHOUGH the Techni-cal-Shirley Rugby team has lost two of its three games in the senior grade, its second five-eighths, A. McNabb, has scored 28 points, the highest in the competition. McNabb has kicked eight penalty goals and two conversions. Only a point behind him is S. K. Henderson, of Old Boys, whose total is made up of one try, three conversions, and six penalty goals. The Canterbury and Linwood full-back, W. F. McCormick, has kicked six penalty goals, two conversions and a field goal for 25 points, two ahead of the University and former Otago and New
Zealand University fullback, D. C. Leary, who has 10 conversions and a penalty goal. D. Davison (University) and B. A. Watt (Christchurch) have scored the most tries, with five each. Two other University players, W. Strang and R. D. Hoskin, have scored four each, as have C. Devine (Christchurch) and D. Stephens (Linwood). University has scored 22 tries in three matches and of these the backs have scored half. It says much for the strength and speed of the University forwards that they have managed to score as many tries as their backs. Christchurch, which i$ first equal at present with University, has scored 13 tries. It is followed by Marist (8), Linwood and SunnysideSpreydon (7), Old Boys and Albion (6), Technical-Shir-ley. New Brighton and Belfast (4), Sydenham (3), and Merivale (2).
