CHRISTCHURCH WEST H.S. £4OOO In Gymnasium Fund The gymnasium fund of the Christchurch West High School now stood at £4OOO. the principal (Mr T. R. Richards) told a meeting of the board last evening. Mr J. W. Shanahan, Old Boys’ Association representative, was elected board representative on the gymnasium controlling committee. The school’s new home science block was in the last stages of completion with the linoleum floor at present being laid, the meeting was told. When electrical fittings had been installed the block would be ready for occupation. Correspondence received from the Education Department approved grants of £77 and £2OO to cover the cost of four cookery tables and the installation of electric light in art and commercial rooms respectively.
