Frozen Beef Rises

IKZ Pres? Association) WELLINGTON, May 5. The London dock strike caused a considerable drop in supplies of chilled beef at Smithfield market this week and prices moved upwards, according to the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board market information service. When the strike ended, supplies of all meat exceeded demand and prices eased appreciably. There was a good inquiry for moderate pitchings of New Zealand lamb. Prices for New Zealand meat, ex hooks Smithfield, in the week ended May 5, with the variation since the previous week, are quoted as follows:
