Australia's biggest plastic group, expects to maintain its position in the industry and directors believe results for 1961 will compare favourably with the rest of industry. Mr F. L. Fitzpatrick, the chairman, said this in today’s annual report. He said the long-term prospects for continued expansion and progress by the company were sound in the short-term the company faced a difficult year. The Government’s policy on imports and credit had struck at the volume of local activity, as indeed it was intended to do. he said. Effects of this would be felt particularly in the consumer division which sold to many thousands of customers McKendrick Issue. McKendrick Glass Manufacturing Company. Ltd. Whangarei, will make a public issue of 150.000 £1 ordinary shares. Net profit of the McKendrick group in the first six months of the current year was £28.000. compared with £29.654 for the whole of last year. Interim dividend has been raised from 4 to 5 per cent.— (PA.)
