Ra Pointer For Second Leg
“The Press" Special Service AUCKLAND, May 5. Ra Pointer, which has a record of one win and four minor placings from his last five starts, is selected to win the Otamatea Handicap, the second leg of the double at the Northland Trotting Club's meeting tomorrow. The first leg of the double will be the Northland Trotting Cup. The ruling favourite for this event is Brigadoro, which is unbeaten in his last two starts. Rain is predicted, but unless there is a lot the track will still provide good going. Selections : 11.15 a.m.—Mangonul Handicap: Suntan. Our Eileen, Covrina. 11.55 am.—Hokianga Handicap: Hamutana. Loyal Cobra Russley Song. 1235 p.m.—Whangarel Handicap: Kola, Motif. Hakatere. 1.15 p.m.—Northland Cup: Brigadoro, Wise Earl, Pacific Derby. 2.5 p.m.—Bay of Islands Handicap: Our Eileen. East Field Suntan. 2.55 p.m.—Otamatea Handicap: Golden Ego. Larklsh. Kola Suntan 2.55 p.m.—President's Handicap: Golden Ego Larklsh, Kola 4.15 p.m.—Hobson Handicap: Sabre Boy, Loya! Sue, Michael Bingen.
