LEADERSHIP COURSES
Organisation By Churches
The annual fortnight’s training courses in group leadership arranged by the Christian education departments of the Methodist and Presbyterian churches ■will begin in Christchurch and Feilding on May 9 and will be attended by more than 60 representatives of both churches from all over the Dominion. The Christchurch course will be supervised by the tlev. A. J. Huston, and the Feilding course bv the Rev A. M. Go's, both of the Christchurch Christian Education Department. The women’s warden nt Christchurch will be Miss M. A»tley. and at Feilding it will be Sister M. Johnston. Both are from the Methodist Christian Education Department. Subjects to be discussed during the courses will include theological Bible study, group methods of teaching for both youth and adult Christian education, and discussions on the basic facts of the Christian faith. Included in each day’s programme will be sessions in recreational leadership conducted by trained instructors. Other sessions will be given in the conduct of meetings. lectures, the principles of group leadership, the making and use of posters, charts and other visual aids, the organisation of community singing, and the use of audio visual eouipment. The Christchurch course will be attended by 27 students from South island centres.
