Chamber Favours Corporation

The Canterbury Chamber of Commerce considers that control of television in New Zealand should be in the hands of a public corporation, provided broadcasting is included under the same control

In his report to the council of the chamber last evening, the chairman of the education committee (Mr J M Tocker) said an important point at issue was the confusion over whether it was intended to set up a separate commission for television, leaving broadcasting in its present form, or whether the two should be under the one control
