Every acclimatisation society has been advised by telegram by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr Goto) that he is relying on them to carry out their responsibilities for ranging and law enforcement during the shooting season opening on May 6 Mr Gotz said unannounced visits would be made by departmental rangers to selected localities to check on all aspects of the game laws. ‘‘AU the prohibitions and restrictions in connexion with the shooting of game are provided for the benefit of sportsmen.” he said, "and I would, therefore, urge all shooters to adopt a true spirit of sportsmanship acd remember that ft is only through cooperation on the part of sportsmen generally, that the wonderful opportunities that are available to shooters can be preserved," Mr Gotz wistid all sportsmen a most successful and enjoyable season.
