TRIBUTE TO MR W. H. GILLESPIE

Tribute to the former Minister of Agriculture, Mr W. H. Gillespie, was paid by the chairman of the Dominion agriculture produce section council of Federated Farmers (Mr F. J. Henshaw) at the quarterly meeting of the council in Christchurch yesterday. “He was a man who made farming his life, and he thoroughly understood the problems of farming,” Mr Henshaw said. Members of the council stood in silence as a mark of respect. The council also passed a resolution of congratulation to the new Minister of Agriculture (Mr Hayman), a former vice-chairman of the council.
