(N.Z. Press Association) WELLINGTON, May 3. The Lyttelton-Christ-church road tunnel would cause acute congestion in the port, the general manager for New Zealand of the Shaw Savill Line (Mr F. D. Harris) told the Wellington section of the Institute of Transport tonight. He said traffic from the tunnel would come straight into the port area. “The wharfage is going to be bunged up,” he said. Mr Harris said there appeared to be a need for some impartial comprehensive planning authority to judge such matters.
