Mr J. Acland, chairman of the Wool Board, the Government member, Mr B S. Trolove (Blenheim), the growers’ representative, Mr R. A. Edgecumbe (Waipukurau), and the board’s general manager, Mr J. D. Fraser, will attend the first meeting of the board of the International Wool Secretariat in Melbourne later this month.— (P.A.) Mr W. Doran has been appointed to the Workers’ Compensation Board. He replaces Mr T. D. A. Burt who has resigned. Mr Doran is the New Zealand manager of the Phoenix Assurance Company and has been nominated bv the Council of Fire and Accident Underwriters’ Associations.—(P.A.) As a mark of respect to the memory of the former Minister of Agriculture, Mr W H. Gillespie, members of the North Canterbury Rabbit Board’s Council stood in ."ilence at their annua! meeting yesterday. Mr A. A. F. Rollands, of Christchurch, has been appointed manager of the Auckland agencies branch of the Totalisator Agency Board —(P.A.) Messrs E. A. Davies and J. W. Raines, of Christchurch, and Miss A. Brooker, of Timaru, have been admitted to the New Zealand Societv of Accountants as associate registered accountants. Mr T. B. Anderson, of Christchurch, and Mr E. H McArthur, of Ashburton have been granted transfers of status to associate public accountants of the New Zealand Society of Accountants. Mr G. H. White, controller of the Stores Division of the Treasury and secretarv of the Government Stores Board, has been appointed ehief purchasing officer in the New Zealand High Commissioner’s office in London He succeeds Mr A F. Lucas who has retired.—(P.A.)
