Miss S. Grigg Wins At Ashburton Miss S. Grigg, of the Shirley club, yesterday won the MidCanterbury women’s golf championship. Least year’s winner, Miss B. Langley, of Rakaia, was just beaten into second place by Mrs W. A. McKellar. of Timaru. Results are as follows: Senior.—Miss Grigg*, runnerup, Mrs McKellar. Morning Medal.—Miss B. Taylor (Ashburton); runner-up, Mrs J. M. Sutherland (Waimate). Afternoon Stroke.—Mrs A. Low (Methven): runner-up. Mrs G. A. Robertson (Ashburton) on a count-back from Mrs J. Templar (Geraldine). Stableford. Silver division: Mrs R. A. Macdonald (Geraldine). Junior Championship.—Miss J. Thomas (Ashburton); runnerup, Mrs D. M. Wilson (Timaru). Morning Medal.—Mrs W. Sugrue (Geraldine); runner-up, Mrs A. Taylor (Geraldine). Afternoon Stroke.—Mrs A. Caithness (Ashburton); runnerup. Mrs A. B. Curtis (Geraldine). Stableford.—Mrs W. H. Hamilton. on a count-back from Mrs L. Porter. Teams’ Match.—Mrs Macdonald. Mrs N. A. Keeley (Timaru), Mrs H. Denny (Mayfield), Mrs Templar; runnersrup, Mrs Curtis. Mrs H. Smallbone (Ashburton), Mrs W. H. Shannon (Ashburton). Mrs W. L. Cranefield (Ashburton) A total of 86 golfers took part in the senior and junior matches.
