CANTERBURY AERO CLUB
Record Number Of Hours Flown -Canterbury Aero Club aircraft flew a record number of hours last month. The ciub’s fleet of planes spent 621 hours 50 minutes in the air, compared with the previous best monthly total of 520 hours recorded last July. Mr R. A. Pegler, secretary of the club, said the record could be attributed to a
month of fine flying weather, an additional aircraft, and several days of flying by pilots gaining experience for instrument licence ratings. Aircraft at the Ashburton airport flew 64 hours during week-ends, and at Rangiora, club aircraft flew 21 hours 40 minutes.
