Joint Statement
The 1960 Labour and Social Credit candidates for the Bay of Plenty electorate have jointly issued a statement in which they announce their “emphatic disapproval” of any Government’s decision to join the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund. Both Mr T. G. Santon (Labour) and Mrs A. E. Knox say that they have prepared the statement on behalf of their respective organisations. Although both organisations differed in their political policies, they say “in the matter of opposition to New Zealand joining the World Bank, we are in complete agreement,”
