APPEAL MADE TO DRIVERS
Route Of Students’ Procession Motorists coming into Christchurch this morning have been asked by the Christchurch traffic superintendent (Mr G. P. Kellar) to keep clear of the students’ procession route until after 11 am. "It will be advisable for motorists not to get into the streets until after the procession. because if one did manage to get through a thin section of the crowd (as has harroened occasionally in the Bast) it could cause a bit of bother.” The route taken by the procession will be the same as last year. It will start at the Students’ Association building in Hereford street, turn right at Oxford terrace and then left into Cashel street. It will then cross Colombo street, turn left at' Manchester street and left again at Armagh street Another left turn arffl be made at Colombo street and it will then go through the Sauare straight to Worcester street, against the normal direction of traffic flow. “As there are 50 floats this year we hope that the students will keep moving,” said Mr Kellar.
