FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT Situation.—An anti-cyclone to the east of New Zealand is moving away and another covers the Tasman Sea. A slow-moving cold front is moving on to the south of the South Island. Forecast:— All districts.—Moderate north-easterlies about the east coast and moderate or fresh north-westerlies about the Marlborough Sounds. Elsewhere light and variable Some cloudy areas near the coast at first in the morning, otherwise fine; mild afternoon temperatures. Outlook: some scattered rain about Canterbury, elsewhere fine.
